A jury last month found Barber guilty of two counts each of rape involving a child younger than 10 and sexual battery.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies responded Sept. 20, 2023, to a report of a sexual assault of a child.
A 7-year-old girl described sexual abuse during an interview at Care House on Valley Street in Dayton, according to Vandalia Municipal Court records.
The abuse reportedly began in August 2023 and happened more than once.
Barber also was designated a Tier III sex offender. The highest level, if he is released from prison it will require him to register his address with his local sheriff’s office every 90 days for life.
